Jenny Richardson Fore is seeking election for 21st JDC Juvenile Court Judge. The election is expected to be scheduled for the Spring of 2025.
LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA – 21st Judicial District Court Public Defender Jenny Richardson Fore, a life-long Republican from Denham Springs, is announcing she will seek election for the 21st JDC Juvenile Court Judge in the Spring 2025 special election.
The special election will be held to replace outgoing Judge Blaire D. Edwards who qualified unopposed for an open seat on the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Richardson Fore has worked closely with Edwards for more than 10 years, being an indispensable part of the juvenile drug court program and helping implement trauma training programs for families and child victims. She has served as the one of the court’s lead liaisons with the district’s school systems and public counseling service programs, including the tri-parish’s Families in Need of Services (FINS) and Truancy Assessment and Service Centers (TASC).
“I know first-hand the importance of maintaining a court system that protects our children and works to provide families with the guidance and resources they need to have healthy, safe homes,” Richardson Fore said. “I will continue to lead our juvenile court with the personal care and attention our children need, and with unwavering toughness against those who would neglect and harm our most vulnerable citizens.”
As Juvenile Judge, Richardson Fore will prioritize rehabilitation and education for young people who need to be given skills to avoid repeat offenses, fairness and justice to families by examining each case on its own merits, and strong community connections to support better networks for local families.
“I have dedicated my legal career to understanding the unique challenges faced by young people. I have worked closely with families, educators, and community organizations to create environments where children can thrive,” she said.
“As your Juvenile Judge, I will bring this knowledge and passion to the courtroom. I will continue to use my experience and understanding of juveniles and the 21st JDC system to work to lower crime among juveniles, while upholding the law to its fullest extent,” Richardson Fore said.
Richardson Fore graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern University’s Law School where she received the Chancellor’s Leadership Award and Outstanding Leadership Award. She served on the school’s Law Review and was Student Bar Association Vice President. Prior to law school, Richardson-Fore earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LSU where she also juggled being a member of the LSU Cheerleading team.
Richardson Fore has served as president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer of the 21st JDC Bar Association. She is an active member of the Denham Springs Kiwanis Club Denham Springs Pilot Club, and the Livingston Parish Republican Women. She also serves as team mom for her daughter’s Live Oak Recreation Cheerleading Team.
Richardson Fore and her husband Colt are the proud parents of two children, Cecile and Cassius. They are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landy is expected to announce the dates of the special election for the 21st JDC Juvenile Court Judge seat later this year.
